I'm not sure that I would wish to encourage this sort of self-publicity among the incumbent professors at my own esteemed university. It smacks too much of the type of individualism that sits uneasily with team-playing. Geoffrey would do well to remember that there is no 'I' in TEAM (although if we're being very pedantic there is, course, a ME

Dear Geoffrey: Having taken up your offer to visit your Website, I am quite impressed--and somewhat jealous, inasmuch as I have not built one for myself! I am mindful of our discussion concerning the Thatcher government's record of appointing Jewish officials & have been reflecting on some parallels with Ronald Reagan in the U.S. One might well argue that Reagan's administration represented a turning point in the stated political affiliation of many U.S. Jews, with significant numbers of "neo-conservatives" such as Irving Kristol moving from having been "Scoop Jackson Democrats" to "Ronald Reagan Republicans" in the 1980s. Perhaps there's a book in this! Cheers, Ron Kimberling
